How We Make Books

A short, honest note on our process — how the work comes together, and the conventions we follow on the way to publication.

Who We Are

Frank Harold Publishing focuses on quality science fiction, fantasy, alternate history, and other genres the authors enjoy reading. It is first and foremost a production of work the authors enjoy reading themselves — and are excited to share with others.

How We Make Books

Every story begins with a human author. Our authors develop the worlds, characters, plots, and major creative decisions that shape each book. We use AI tools throughout the process — for research, drafting from author briefs, continuity audits across long series, editorial review, and supporting work like maps and timelines. Every scene that appears in a finished book is reviewed, edited, and approved by the author, who is responsible for the creative and editorial decisions that determine what is published.

Pen Names

Our authors write under pen names. A single writer may publish under more than one — different pen names keep different genres and series distinct, so each body of work can develop its own identity. We identify pen names clearly on our author pages, so readers always know what they are buying and who stands behind the work.
